Getting to experience all four seasons is one of the benefits of living in a place like Connecticut. At the same time, it’s those vary same seasons that bring inclement weather, which is one of the largest threats that can be imposed against one’s roof. While it might seem obvious that hail would potentially cause damage to a roof, what’s less obvious is the way in which it creates that damage. Hail, like snow or rain, is considered a form of precipitation. However, unlike other forms of precipitation, hail is far denser and harder due to its specific makeup. Considering that hail is defined as solid and dense ice that forms at a minimum of 5 millimeters in diameter, it stands to reason that it would pose a major threat to one’s roof.
