Himachal CM Sukhu underscores full-scale flood relief efforts

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has declared the devastating floods, landslides, and cloudbursts in Himachal Pradesh a “war‑like” emergency. The government is providing ₹5,000 monthly rental support to displaced families, supplying food and ration, and rescuing stranded residents, including over 400 in Mandi. So far, 69 people have died, 37 are missing, and infrastructure losses exceed ₹700 crore, with 300 roads blocked, 790 water schemes hit, and 332 power transformers damaged. NDRF/SDRF teams are on the ground, and engineering panels are scrutinising road‑cutting practices to prevent future disasters.
