If you book your ticket with British Airways, you will have more flexibility. According to the British Airways cancellation & refund policy, you can cancel your ticket and receive a reimbursement. If you cancel your ticket within the 24-hour allotted period after booking, British Airways will not charge you any cancellation fees.

British Airways’ cancellation policy states that if a traveller cancels their reservation due to illness or the death of a close family member, the airline will not impose a cancellation fee. As per the guidelines, you can ask for a refund, if you cancel your non-refundable ticket but you will only get the remaining amount after deducting the cancellation charges.
